The FDA has granted accelerated approval to Adagrasib for the treatment of patients with KRAS G12C mutations in non-small cell lung cancer. In the trial, the drug resulted in disease control in 80% of patients, of which, 43% had substantial tumour shrinkage.

In recommendations released on 2 February 2023, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) recommends that doctors consider neratinib for patients with HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer, regardless of their estrogen receptor status.

Recently, the European Commission has approved cemiplimab-rwlc (Libtayo), manufactured by US-based Regeneron, as a monotherapy for the treatment of adult patients with recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer whose disease has progressed during or after platinum-containing chemotherapy. The results of the trial showed that this therapy significantly improved patient survival and had a good safety profile.

Many lung cancer patients will be detected by genetic testing to carry an EGFR mutation, and these patients can often control their tumours with EGFR-targeted drugs. Results from a pivotal phase 3 trial show that the PD-1 therapy Keytruda, in combination with chemotherapy, significantly improves survival in patients with advanced gastric cancer and has a favorable safety profile. Patients benefited regardless of their PD-L1 expression.
